How can a portrait communicate both what we look like and who we are?
Students will create a self-portrait that combines realistic observation with symbolic imagery to communicate personal identity. Using the grid method, students will accurately redraw half of their portrait while designing the opposite side to represent their inner self through imagery, color, and symbolism.
